Ms. Parker called on the Michigan Municipal League (MML) and
the nonprofit community service organization known as LIAA to guide a
community-wide process to help the citizens of Ecorse develop a strategic plan.
As the City recovers from financial crisis and works toward greater fiscal
solvency, it is imperative to move Ecorse towards "full-scale revitalization".
A Citizen's Strategic Plan for developing the Ecorse community was unveiled to
newly elected officials on November 30, 2011! The Emergency Manager, Mayor
and City Council are working with 6 Goal committees to implement the Plan as of January 2012.
Everyone involved in the process, including residents and other stakeholders
are to be commended for their participation in Envision Ecorse, and this very
important planning process. A special "thank you" is extended to the
Citizens Advisory Council for their effort and hard work in helping to establish
a road map for the City's future.
