more energy-efficient. The program is free to income-eligible homeowners and renters.

Help clean up Ecorse Creek!
Volunteers are needed on Saturday, August 10 at Pepper Park in the City of Ecorse.

  • This cleanup will focus on the creek and its shoreline. All cleanup supplies are provided. All participants are entered into a raffle which will be drawn at the September 14 clean up. Registration is encouraged but not required. For more information and to register, head to www.detroitriver.org/events

Ecorse Creek Clean-up:
Our second clean up event of the season will take place on Saturday, July 13, at VFW Park in Lincoln Park from 9:00 am till noon. Please use the link to register so we can plan accordingly. 

We will also be hosting additional clean up events along the North Branch of Ecorse Creek the second Saturday in August and September. Please hold those dates on your calendar. More information will be coming soon.

City of Ecorse Street Sweeping
Street Sweeping will resume April 15 2024 at 9:00 am
Temporary Signs will be posted on the side of the street that is scheduled for street sweeping.
Please be sure All vehicles are not parked on the streets where the Temporary Signs are posted during the scheduled times.
Police cars will be in the area to issue Tickets for vehicles parked in the prohibited zones, and in extreme circumstances, vehicles could possibly be towed.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping to keep our City Streets Clean.

Small Business Administration
Federal Disaster Loan Assistance Available to Businesses and Residents of Wayne County affected by Severe Storms, Tornadoes, and Flooding that occurred on August 24-26, 2023
  • ​​The Deadline to apply for a Physical Damage Disaster Loan is April 8, 2024
The Agency will waive the interest rate for the first year on new disaster loans and the first payment is deferred until the 12 month after receipt of the initial loan disbursement.   
 
Individuals may apply online at sba.gov/disaster or at one of the disaster recovery centers listed on the attached form

Drones will be flying over Ecorse Creek. This aerial survey will help identify litter debris, access locations, invasive species, and failing infrastructure.

Several disaster recovery centers have been set up for the residents and businesses of Wayne County who were impacted by torrential rain, flooding, and tornadoes that occurred in August. The centers are equipped with specialists from FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration, who can assist with various tasks such as applying for federal disaster aid and uploading necessary documents.
